In the first election after the delimitation, the Congress fielded Umang Singhar, nephew of former Deputy Chief Minister of the state, Jamuna Devi, who has won the seat for two consecutive terms.

Umang Singhar has defeated BJP's veteran current Dhar-Mhow MP Chhatarsingh Darbar and current Dhar District Panchayat President Sardar Singh Meda twice in the previous assembly elections. This time too, CM's meeting is being held to defeat Umang Singar. But Umang Singhar has a penchant for everyone at the lower level. MLA Singhar gets the benefit of this in every election. This is the reason why Gandhwani seat of MLA Singhar is a winning seat for Congress, which BJP has not been able to differentiate till now.

Officers visit meeting place with leaders: Collector Priyanka Mishra is continuously inspecting Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's Ladli Bahna Sammelan on May 21 in Chikli, Gandhwani and other proposed programmes. Simultaneously, arrangements are being made. District Panchayat CEO Shringar Srivastava is also inspecting the meeting with the field staff. He was accompanied by Superintendent of Police Manoj Kumar Singh, District Panchayat President Sardar Singh Meda, former cabinet minister Ranjana Baghel and other officers and public representatives. He instructed the officers to make arrangements for parking system, drinking water system, route chart, toilet, electricity system, cleanliness system etc. smoothly.
