Despite the slowdown in the global IT services sector, its brand value has been estimated at $14.2 billion. HDFC Group has become the third largest Indian brand with a valuation of $10.4 billion. HDFC has gained strength after its merger with housing finance company HDFC Ltd last year.

According to the report, the brand value of banking units has increased in double digits. Among these, Indian Bank, IndusInd Bank and Union Bank are at the forefront. The brand value of the telecom sector has increased the most by 61 percent. After this, banking (26 percent) and mining, iron and steel sectors have registered an average growth of 16 percent. The report says, "Telecom companies like Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea have accelerated growth by developing ways of consumer device usage.

Structural reforms and regulatory reforms in the banking sector have increased the brand value of leading public sector banks." Brand Finance has said that Tata Group's hospitality brand Taj is continuously strengthening its position as the best Indian brand.
