Saharanpur, Police has arrested brother-in-law and sister-in-law who had sent a threatening letter to a female doctor in Nakur town of Saharanpur district and demanded extortion of Rs 10 lakh. During interrogation, the accused accepted demanding extortion to buy a plot and ruin the doctor.

SP Rural Sagar Jain said that Dr. Meenakshi Saini has a hospital in Nakur town. A threatening letter was sent to her and extortion of Rs 10 lakh was demanded. Nakur police was checking on Nakur-Ambehta road. During this, when the police tried to catch a person coming from Ambehta, he opened fire on the police team. Police also surrounded and arrested the person. During interrogation, the arrested accused told his name as Gopal son Jai Singh resident of Birakhedi. After questioning him, his sister-in-law Ritu, daughter of Ramswaroop, resident of Mohalla Banjaran, police station Nakur, was also arrested from her house. Both of them together made a plan to demand extortion from the lady doctor. Ritu used to work at the lady doctor's place, whom the doctor had fired two months ago. During interrogation, accused Gopal told that he had to buy a plot in Nakur, for which he had seen a plot on Sarsawa Road. Money was needed for this. Five years ago, the accused and his wife also used to work in the same hospital. However, later they left. About two months ago, the hospital operator also fired Gopal's sister-in-law Ritu from the job. After this, the brother-in-law and sister-in-law together made a plan to ruin the doctor. A threatening letter was sent by post to demand extortion of Rs 10 lakh. The accused had said that if you want to pay extortion, put four tricolor flags on the hospital gate. In the second letter, he had asked to remove two tricolor flags. He made four packets of two and a half lakh and kept them in the bag and called with a torch and without mobile and earphones. Six places were mentioned in the letter. At one of these places you will find a paper wrapped in a foil, read it and come back. He was going to keep the paper at one place when the police saw him. After which the accused was caught. On seeing the police, he opened fire, but the police surrounded him and caught him.
