Shahdol, the rains of the last two-three days have exposed the claims of the urban administration. On Saturday, the Nagar Palika was exposed in 2 hours of heavy rain in front of Ward No. 23 LIC near Rewa Hotel. The poor quality of the culvert construction work not only filled people's houses with water but also caused a lot of damage to their household goods. The video and picture of water filled in the house of journalist colleague Ganesh Kumar Kewat is telling that there was a lot of damage to his household goods including electronic goods, refrigerator, washing machine, clothes, copy books, medicines and other household goods. His mother, who is handicapped and ill, is sitting on the bed and the sight of water filled in the room and the terror in her mind is telling this. His car, four wheeler and two wheeler also got filled with water. Along with this, the houses and shops of the residents living next door, Umesh Kumar Dand Mishra, Nagarat, Sonu Jaiswal, have suffered a lot due to water filling and there has been a lot of damage to the goods, the full responsibility of which he is giving to the Nagar Palika. In order to avoid such water problem in future, today on 20.8.2024, while giving a memorandum to the Divisional Commissioner, Collector and Municipality CMO Akshat Bundela, Municipality President Ghanshyam Jaiswal, they told their entire ordeal and also showed their video photo, all those ward residents and residents say that the culvert which has been constructed has not been done properly from Budhar Chowk to Baderia Bhawan. There is only one culvert for the drainage of water till the square. The work of poor quality was not done by widening it, due to which the houses of common people are filled with water, the entire responsibility of this lies with the municipality and administration. In this direction, after seeing the memorandum in the month of January and March also, he had expressed the fact that if the culvert is not constructed properly before the rains, then our houses will be filled with water, on which the municipality did not pay any attention, this becomes a matter of investigation and he also alleged that if the correct culvert had been constructed on time, then this situation would not have to be seen today. He also says that the loss that we have suffered and someone could have lost his life, should be compensated by the municipality or the administration and if any such mistake occurs in future, then the municipality and the administration will be responsible for it. Today, while giving the memorandum, all the ward residents Mishra ji, Umesh Kumar Dand, Ganesh Kewat Sonu Jaiswal Nagarat ji, Ankit Srivastava, Shubham Gupta, Aditya Gupta, Radhe Gupta, Sandeep Giri, Shekhar Dand and ward residents were present.

I immediately call and send an engineer and I myself come and solve the problem on the spot. I spoke to Dolly Sharma ji on phone. She said that after two days of the festival, we will fix the drain by putting a 4 feet long dola in it and will talk to the engineer for the culvert and find a solution.
