Munger, Munger Civil Court Special Judge Pradeep Kumar Chaudhary sentenced Kundan Kumar, resident of Mudhhari of Haveli Kharagpur police station area, to life imprisonment under POCSO Act along with financial penalty under various sections and to pay 3 lakh rupees as compensation to the victim.

Additional Sessions Judge Sixth cum Special Judge POCSO Act Pradeep Kumar Chaudhary of Civil Court in Munger heard the point of punishment in Kharagpur Police Station Case No. 216/20 and POCSO Case No. 84/20. Accused Kundan Singh was convicted under Section 4/6 of POCSO Act and Section 376, 364A, 363, 366A of IPC and sentenced to life imprisonment till the last breath and also ordered compensation of Rs 03 lakh to the victim.

Special PP POCSO Act Pritam Kumar Vaishya participated in the debate on behalf of the prosecution in the case. According to the information, the informant, a resident of Kharagpur Munderi, had lodged an FIR in Kharagpur police station and told that on 19 August 20, at 6 pm, when his daughter had gone to the market, the accused Kundan Singh of the same village took his daughter away on his bike.

After keeping the girl in his in-laws' house in Kajra for a few days, Kundan took her to Orissa and then to Bhubaneswar. Kundan made the victim call her father and demanded 50 thousand rupees. After this, both of them came to Kajra Arma. The police recovered the victim from Kajra Arma but the accused absconded. Later on 10 August 21, the accused Kundan Singh surrendered in the court, since then he is in jail.
Meanwhile, on 24 August 21, the police filed a chargesheet against Kundan Singh and 3 people including his parents. After hearing the witnesses in the case, Kundan Singh was convicted by the court on 19 July 24. Whereas during the trial, the court acquitted his parents. Hearing was held on the point of punishment in which Kundan Singh was sentenced to life imprisonment till his last breath and an order was given to pay compensation of Rs 03 lakh to the victim.
