MP is amazing! Constable got 28 lakh salary sitting at home
Did not go to duty for 12 years, read the whole story of fraud
A shocking case has come to light in Madhya Pradesh Police where a constable took a salary of Rs 28 lakh without doing duty for 12 years. This case is related to a policeman resident of Vidisha district, who was recruited in Madhya Pradesh Police in 2011.
After recruitment, he was posted in Bhopal Police Line and then sent to Sagar Training Center. But instead of reaching the training, he quietly returned to his home in Vidisha. He neither informed any officer nor applied for leave, but sent his service file to Bhopal by speed post. The file reached there and was accepted without any investigation.
No officer was able to detect the irregularity for 12 years
After this, neither was the absence reported from the training center, nor did anyone in Bhopal Police Line pay attention to his absence. In this way, he kept getting salary year after year and never appeared for any duty. The surprising thing is that for 12 years no officer was able to catch this irregularity.
How the scam came to light
This scam came to light when the pay grade review of the 2011 batch was being done in 2023. The officers did not find any file or service record of that constable. No case, no transfer, no attendance. When he was called, he claimed that he was suffering from mental health problems and that is why he could not come to duty. He also gave some medical documents.
Never returned in the name of training
The responsibility of investigation has been handed over to ACP Ankita Khatarkar, who is posted in TT Nagar area of Bhopal. She told that the constable had taken permission to go for training alone, but never returned. For this reason, his attendance was not recorded and he remained in the records continuously.
The constable has been kept in Bhopal Police Line
At present, the constable has been kept in Bhopal Police Line and Rs 1.5 lakh has been recovered from him, the remaining amount will be recovered by deducting it from his upcoming salary. The department has said that the investigation is still going on and strict action will be taken against any officer found guilty of this negligence.
