Damoh, Collector Sudhir Kumar Kochar has told the citizens of the district that in the last 24 hours, more than 7 inches of rain has occurred in Damoh, which is a record of one day in itself, there has been very heavy rainfall and due to heavy rainfall, there is definitely a situation of waterlogging in many places.
The collector said that the entire team of the district administration has been active since last night and wherever there is excessive waterlogging, wherever drainage arrangements can be made, it is being done continuously. In rural areas, in urban areas, there is Bajaria Ward No. 07, Kerbana in Batiagarh and a few other places where the situation has arisen to shift people, there the work of shifting them to the nearest community building, school, Anganwadi or Panchayat Bhawan has been done and arrangements for food, water, housing, electricity have been ensured for them.

Collector Sudhir Kumar Kochar said that where there are rivers like Vyarma, Sunar, Kopra, and other big rivers, the officers are constantly monitoring those rivers, the entire team of SDM and revenue, CEO of District Panchayat, CEO of districts and everyone is monitoring those places, if suppose there is a situation of excessive water logging and flood, then people can be rescued immediately, in such areas, especially in Hata, there is such a situation, so the people there have been identified and full preparations have been done for them, if the rain intensifies today, then the work of shifting them will be done immediately.

The collector said that information about a woman came through social media, our medical team reached there for that woman and she delivered her baby in a healthy manner and as soon as the water recedes, she will be brought to the hospital and her complete checkup will be done, this arrangement is being made.

The collector said that the gates of all the dams in the district like Sitanagar, Pancham Nagar, Satdharu, Pagra are in a position to open, the gates have been opened since late last night and today morning and due to the opening of the gates, water comes near Sunar, so especially the area near the Sunar river becomes very large, due to this the water level here increases very fast, we are also keeping an eye on that and wherever there is less rainfall, then action will be taken to close that gate so that there is no situation of additional water logging at all.

The collector has instructed all the citizens of the district not to go over the bridge where water is passing, there was a news of a bus going there recently, the transport officer has been told to take strict action against this bus and cancel their permit and put them in the black list in future, this action is being taken.

He has requested all the citizens not to go near the rivers, do not roam unnecessarily where there is water, their lives may be in danger, avoid this. Wherever water is filling up, wherever complaints are coming, the team of the district administration is working continuously and is working to provide relief to the people.

The collector said that due to excessive rain, someone's crops have been destroyed, crops have been damaged or someone's houses have been broken, we will conduct a survey of them and all the eligible people will be given assistance accordingly. Everyone should be absolutely relaxed, the work of providing assistance will be done completely after conducting a survey.
