Katni, On the lines of Katni Metro City, Katni's traffic police has started installing safety barriers on the cemented divider in the middle of the road from Saturday, keeping in mind the daily vehicle accidents. By starting the installation of barriers with a sensitive approach to protect life and property from road accidents, the traffic police has taken Katni district to the first position in the state through innovation. Along with this, Katni Traffic has also constructed a traffic rotary at Madhavnagar Gate. Due to which the traffic system can be operated uninterruptedly.

To observe this innovation made by the traffic police, Superintendent of Police Abhijeet Kumar Ranjan, Additional Superintendent of Police Manoj Kedia, City Superintendent of Police Khyati Mishra and senior officers of the district reached Madhavnagar intersection. While observing the safety equipment installed, the officers have appreciated the innovation of the station in-charge.

Regarding innovation, Superintendent of Police Abhijeet Kumar Ranjan and traffic station in-charge Rahul Pandey said that there is a possibility of accident every day in the cemented dividers built in the middle of the road within the urban limits on the National Highway. Such incidents have happened many times in the past. Many drivers have been seriously injured in accidents. He said that keeping the accidents in mind, radium is being permanently applied on the tires of the vehicles in front of the divider, so that if the vehicle hits the tire instead of hitting the divider, then the possibility of getting seriously injured in such a situation is less. .. Such safety barriers have so far been installed by the traffic police in 10 major places of the city. Efforts have been made to prevent accidents by installing safety barriers at 10 other places including Peerbaba, Jhinjhari, Madhavnagar Gate, Dugdi Nala, Vishram Baba Gate.

Traffic rotary built in Madhavnagar intersection

Traffic station in-charge Rahul Pandey said that apart from this innovation, keeping in mind the convenience of the traffic personnel and the arrangement of vehicles in Madhav Nagar, the main intersection of the city, a traffic rotary has been constructed near the intersection. Through the traffic rotary, now the traffic staff will be able to easily work to improve the traffic system of the intersection.

The idea of using mutilated tires after collecting them with public support came to police station in-charge Rahul Pandey a month ago. He said that instructions from senior officers were to do some constructive and protective work and then to bring this idea to the ground. Efforts started by contacting roadside puncture shops, collecting unused tires and then constructing safety barriers at accident prone places. At present, safety barriers are to be installed at 20 other places from Peerbaba to Chaka, for which efforts are being made. Along with placing radium strip in the safety barrier, boards have also been installed to follow the traffic rules so that the drivers will also become aware.
