Saharanpur, famous in the country and the world for the production of good quality mangoes and sweet juicy litchi, is expected to produce huge amount of mango and litchi this time. District Horticulture Officer Kampal Singh said that in Saharanpur district, there are mango orchards in 26500 hectares of land and litchi orchards in six thousand hectares of land. Orchard owners Devi Singh, Jai Kumar Chauhan and Rajpal Singh Gurjar told today that this time the yield on mango and litchi has been of good quality. Pesticides were sprayed when there was an infestation of hyper insect on the mango crop. Jaikumar Chauhan, resident of village Jahanpur, said that Dussehri, Langra, Chausa and Ramkela varieties of mangoes have grown well and a good harvest of mangoes is expected. Litchi production ranges from 18 to 20 hectares. This time the process of pollination in litchi continued till 15th April. Well, it ends on April 4-5. Saharanpur mango is exported to America, England, Australia, Arabia, Delhi, Japan.
