Hajipur had the most polluted air on Diwali night
340 AQI recorded at Bihar State Pollution Control Board office
Patna, on Diwali night, the air of the capital was less polluted than last year. This brought great relief to the residents of the capital, but the loud sound of firecrackers increased the trouble.
There was a lot of noise even in quiet areas. At some places in the capital, the amount of PM 2 was recorded higher than normal. However, the condition of air pollution did not reach dangerous levels anywhere in the capital and there was less air pollution than last year.
Last year on Diwali night, the AQI in the capital was 333, this time 230 AQI was recorded. That is, this year the AQI is 103 less than last year. This situation is very relieving for the residents of the capital.
Air pollution decreased due to the strictness of the administration and awareness of the people
Dr. DK Shukla, Chairman of Bihar State Pollution Control Board, said that this year the air pollution decreased due to the strictness of the administration and awareness of the people. The administration worked at many levels to control air pollution. The effect of continuous sprinkling of water on the roads was seen.
Apart from this, the effect of awareness programmes being run in schools and colleges was also seen this year. Dainik Jagran also kept making people aware about firecrackers and how bad their effects are.
Strong wind also gave relief to people
Experts say that this year on the night of Diwali, people got some relief due to the wind speed being 5 to 7 kilometres per hour. Due to strong wind, a layer of pollution could not form in the sky of the capital.
Due to strong wind, the smoke was getting dispersed. This continued throughout the night. Also, due to less humidity in the atmosphere these days, dust particles are getting dispersed.
AQI reached 340 due to highway construction in Hajipur
The amount of air pollution in the state was recorded highest in Hajipur on the night of Diwali. 340 AQI was recorded there. Dr. D.K. Shukla, Chairman of Bihar State Pollution Control Board, says that firecrackers are not the main reason for air pollution in Hajipur.
Diwali has nothing to do with pollution. Currently, a highway is being constructed there, which is causing air pollution. The construction agency has been asked to control it too, if the construction agency does not take appropriate action, the board will take action against it.
