FWICE appeals to Indian filmmakers
Said- 'Boycott Turkiye for shooting'
In the situation of tension between India and Pakistan, Turkiye supported the enemy country Pakistan. People are angry over this. There is a demand to boycott Turkiye in the film industry as well. Recently, 'Anupama' fame actress Rupali Ganguly appealed to people to cancel the booking of Turkiye. Now the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has appealed to Indian filmmakers not to look for shooting locations in Turkiye.
Reconsider before shooting in Turkiye
FWICE has appealed to Indian filmmakers to reconsider choosing Turkiye as a shooting location. Turkiye expressed support for Pakistan in matters affecting India's national interests. Now FWICE has cited this and appealed to the producers to boycott Turkiye.
Request to producers
In a statement issued by FWICE, the apex body representing 36 crafts of workers, technicians and artists in the Indian media and entertainment industry, it has been said that all Indian filmmakers are requested to reconsider choosing Turkey as a shooting location in view of the increasing support for Pakistan on matters related to India's national interests.
There should be a complete ban on Pakistani artists
FWICE said that it has been adhering to the concept of nation first. FWICE has always been firm on the belief that the nation comes first. Due to recent developments and Turkey's continued stance in support of Pakistan, we believe that the Indian film industry should not invest or cooperate in any form, which indirectly helps or benefits such a country. According to news agency ANI, FWICE General Secretary Ashok Dubey has demanded a complete ban on Pakistani artists working in India.
Ashok Pandit also talked about boycott
Apart from FWICE, film producer Ashok Pandit has talked about boycotting Turkey and Azerbaijan for shooting Hindi films. He says, 'We were all shocked when Turkey went against our country and supported Pakistan. We condemn their stance, that is why we have issued notices to everyone'.
