Saharanpur, District Road Safety Committee meeting was convened in the Collectorate Auditorium under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Manish Bansal. In the meeting, discussions were held regarding taking all necessary steps under the standards of road safety to get rid of traffic jams, install signage as per requirement and reduce accidents on roads.

In view of getting rid of the problem of traffic jam, District Magistrate Manish Bansal directed to keep the opening and closing time of schools at an interval of 10 to 15 minutes. For this, he directed the District School Inspector to sensitize them by holding a meeting with the manager and principal of all the schools. He directed that the sugarcane mill manager and the District Sugarcane Officer should also be included in the next meeting. He directed the PWD to widen the narrow culverts of the roads and install signage there. He took special enforcement action at Hasanpur Chowk, Dehradun Chowk and Police Chowki and took action against those who drive without helmets as per rules. While reviewing the points of road safety, District Magistrate Manish Bansal directed the NHAI officials to complete the work prescribed under the standards of road safety on national highways.
District Magistrate Manish Bansal directed that black spots should be identified and signs should be installed in accident prone areas in the district and the work of removing black spots should be expedited. He said that legal action should be taken against those who violate traffic rules. He directed to install traffic signs outside schools located on the highway and roadside. Intensive action should be taken by running a campaign against those who violate traffic rules on the highway. On this occasion, Superintendent of Police Traffic Siddharth Verma, ARTO MP Singh, Executive Engineer PWD Dharmendra Singh, officials of Education, Electricity, Health, Municipal Corporation, Police were present.
