Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind's Maulana Arshad Madani has filed a petition in the Delhi High Court as well as Mumbai and Gujarat High Court demanding a ban on the film Udaipur Files. This film is releasing on 11 July. Let us tell you that the story of Udaipur Files is based on the murder of tailor Kanhaiyalal, Gyanvapi and Nupur Sharma controversy.

According to Jamiat, hate-spreading films like 'Udaipur Files' are against brotherhood in the society. Jamiat President Maulana Arshad Madani said that indecent comments have been made in the trailer of this film. This film has been made to ignite the peace of the country and communal harmony among the people.

Maulana Arshad Madani said that through the film, a conspiracy has been hatched to harm the image of a particular class and religious educational institutions. He wondered how the censor board approved this film. He said that this clearly shows that there are some forces and people behind this film, who want to tarnish the image of a particular community and spread venom against them among the majority population of the country.

'We chose the path of legal battle'

Maulana Madani said that the 2 minute 53 second trailer of the film that has been released is full of such dialogues and scenes that can harm the communal harmony in the country. The film is based on an incident that happened in Udaipur in 2022. But it is clear from the trailer itself that the purpose of the film is to present a particular religious community in a negative and biased manner, which is a direct violation of the fundamental rights of the people of that community to live with dignity. We have chosen the path of legal battle to stop the screening of this film and have also made the Censor Board a party in it, because its crime is no less than those who have made this disgusting film.

Demand for ban arose as soon as the trailer was released

Let us tell you that as soon as the trailer of the film 'Udaipur Files' based on the murder of tailor Kanhaiyalal in Udaipur was released, the demand for banning it started gaining momentum. The trailer of this film also includes the controversial statement of Nupur Sharma, due to which communal tension not only increased in the country.

These controversies are also mentioned in the film

Cases like 'Gyanvapi Mosque' are also mentioned in the film. These cases are currently pending in the District Court of Varanasi and the Supreme Court. The film is to be released on July 11 after the certificate is issued by the Censor Board. The Central Government, Censor Board, Johnny Fire Fox Media Pvt. Ltd. and X Corp, who are associated with the production and distribution of the film, have been made parties in the petition of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind.

'Misuse of the right to freedom of expression'

The petition has been prepared by lawyer Fuzail Ayyubi. The petition states that by misusing the right to freedom of expression, such scenes have been shown in the film which have nothing to do with Islam, Muslims and Deoband. It is clear from the trailer that this film is inspired by anti-Muslim sentiments.
