Shivpuri, BSP, Bhim Army and other SC-ST organizations took out a rally against the Supreme Court's comment on SC-ST reservation in Shivpuri today. Also, the market was closed. The rally reached the Collectorate office, where a memorandum was submitted to the President.
Let us tell you that today a Bharat Bandh was called against the Supreme Court's permission to implement creamy layer in SC reservation. The effect of this Bharat Bandh has been negligible in Shivpuri. It is worth noting that today people from BSP, Bhim Army, OBC Mahasabha and SC-ST organizations had gathered at the old bus stand of Shivpuri. Here everyone came out through the market in the form of a rally. During this, the rally started from the market and reached the Collectorate via Court Road. Here a memorandum was submitted to the President. On 1st August 2024, the Hon'ble Supreme Court had ordered the Central Government that the State Governments should conduct a survey of the reservation given to the Scheduled Castes and Tribes and also sort out and classify the creamy layer in these castes. A protest was held today against this order. SC-ST organizations say that this order will harm the Scheduled Castes and Tribes a lot, there will be division among the people on the basis of caste and animosity will arise, yet these castes will not get the full benefit of reservation. The police administration was seen fully alert to ensure that there is no disturbance or incident during the Bharat Bandh. An appeal was also issued by the Shivpuri SP. Today police is seen in the markets of the city. Every visitor is being monitored. People doing politics of the Dalit class are being monitored. Today during the rally, a large number of police force accompanied the rally.
