The national capital Delhi has witnessed a major political reshuffle in the last one week. The release of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal from Tihar Jail by the Supreme Court in the Delhi liquor scam and then his resignation from the post of Chief Minister. Along with this, the decision of the AAP Legislature Party to make Atishi Marlena the CM of Delhi surprised everyone. After Arvind Kejriwal's resignation was accepted, today (Saturday) Atishi Marlena took oath as the Chief Minister along with her five ministers. She has not only become the third woman but also the youngest Chief Minister of Delhi. Atishi will now hold the term till the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, while Arvind Kejriwal has freed himself from the post of CM and has focused his entire attention on the Haryana Assembly elections.

Atishi became the third woman Chief Minister of Delhi

Aam Aadmi Party leader Atishi took oath as the Chief Minister at the Lieutenant Governor's residence Raj Bhavan. Along with her, five AAP MLAs also took oath as ministers. After BJP's Sushma Swaraj and Congress' Sheila Dixit, Atishi has become the third woman Chief Minister of Delhi, and she has also become the youngest Chief Minister of Delhi. President Draupadi Murmu has appointed Atishi as the Chief Minister of Delhi, and the President has also approved the appointment of five ministers. Many senior AAP leaders including former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia attended Atishi's swearing-in ceremony. It is worth noting that since Atishi became the CM and Kejriwal's resignation, the opposition is linking this move with the upcoming assembly elections.

Kejriwal had said this

After the Supreme Court granted bail in the liquor policy case, Kejriwal had said, 'I got justice from the legal courts... now I will get justice from the court of the people. I want to ask the people of Delhi whether Kejriwal is innocent or guilty? If I have worked, vote for me.' While announcing his resignation from the CM post, he also said that now until the people of Delhi do not make him the Chief Minister again, he will not sit on the CM post. Let us tell you that Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in March and then by the Central Bureau of Investigation in June on charges of money laundering and corruption related to the liquor policy scam. Last week, the Supreme Court granted him bail with several conditions.
