Jamui, Bihar government and central government do make claims of development, but Jamui seems to be far away from the claims of development and reality. During rainy season, half a dozen villages turn into islands. Even after 78 years of independence, there is a village in Jamui where even today people are far away from basic facilities. Forget about education and development, there is no arrangement even for the patient to go to the hospital. Where people still have to take the help of cot.
The cot has to be carried by four people on a bat across the river and cover a distance of about 3 km to reach the main road. Ambulances and vehicles are available only till there. In other words, the whole country is celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav at this time and on the other hand, half a dozen villages including Jalkharia of Chakai block of Jamui district are deprived of the claims made about development.
In fact, Anil Das of Jalkharia village of Chakai block, located in the remote Barti area of Jamui district, went to the forest near Jalkharia village on Sunday morning to pluck tooth sticks. Where he was bitten by a poisonous insect. Due to the lack of road in the village, the family carried him on a cot for about 3 kilometers to the river and due to the lack of a bridge on the river, they had to struggle a lot to take him to the hospital for treatment. After that, he was made to cross the river from Khatauli itself. After that he was taken to Deoghar for treatment. Due to delay in taking him for treatment, his condition became critical and now he died during treatment.
Let us tell you that the villagers of Jalkharia village have been demanding for decades that a paved road should be built in the village and a bridge should be built on the Jalkharia Ghat of Ajay River. Due to which all the villagers of the village boycotted the vote in the last 2019 Lok Sabha elections. When the vote was boycotted, the then DM and senior officials of the district and public representatives had assured the villagers that after the elections, a paved road would be constructed in the village and a high level bridge would be built at Jalkhariya Ghat of Ajay River in the next 5 years. But the assurances of the officials and public representatives proved to be mere paper and nothing happened on the ground.
